छतरपुर जिले से 120 किमी दूर बेहरवारा के महरखुवा गांव में दूर-दूर तक चिलचिलाती धूप और पहाड़ों-जंगलों के अलावा पानी के नाम पर कुछ भी नजर नहीं आता।आदिवासी बहुल इस इलाके में यहां के लोग जिंदा रहने के लिए हर दिन एक ही काम करते हैं, पानी भरना। उन्हें पानी लाने के लिए पथरीले और जोखिम भरे रास्ते को पार करना पड़ता है। लोग नहाते हैं, कपड़े धोते हैं और इसी दूषित पानी को पीते हैं। आश्चर्य की बात यह है कि जल संकट के कारण गांव के लगभग 75% युवा अविवाहित हैं। कई परिवार कठोर परिस्थितियों से बचने के लिए पलायन कर गए हैं।
In Maharkhuwa village of Beharwara, 120 km from Chhatarpur district, apart from the scorching sun and mountains and forests, nothing in the name of water is visible. In this tribal dominated area, people here do the same work every day to survive. Let’s fill the water. They have to cross rocky and dangerous paths to fetch water. People bathe, wash clothes and drink this contaminated water. The surprising thing is that due to water crisis, about 75% of the youth of the village are unmarried. Many families have fled to escape the harsh conditions.
